Round 3 Results:

Dallas Gives us the Carpet Burn!

Round 3 of the Texas EOS is in the books and the Dallas crew sweep all but 1 class!

Great racing ensued the whole weekend and we even had a World Champion racing with us as RC America's own Ralph Burch decided to come show us all how to do it on the Carpet. In total, we had 69 entries, spanning 7 different classes.

In GT10 Randy Novak and Aaron Grant battled all day, even splitting A-Main wins. With the tie breaker, Aaron took the overall win, but with Randy taking the TQ, the points look very interesting going into the last race of the season. Pit Racer rounded out the podium and sets himself up for the overall title as well.

In VTA, Randy again TQ's and wins from wire to wire, seeing a bit of a challenge from Sean Moore early on, but as usual, Randy's smooth driving style proved too consistent for the rest of the field.  With the overall result, Randy has clinched the VTA title for the inaugural season of the Texas EOS! Congrats.

In F1, local fast guy Robert Bremer held serve as he dominated qualifying and the main in convincing fashion. The winner of Rd1. and Rd.2 Marcus Williams, followed in 2nd place, but simply could not match Bremer's pace. With the result, only disaster can keep Marcus away from the title as he would have to finish worse than 4th and Robert would have to TQ and win the last date of the series to snatch the title away. Rounding up the top 3, and solidifying his 3rd place in the series was Houston's own Frank Hernandez.

The 12th scales were really at home on the carpet and the racing was super exciting. James Lundberg and Andrew Doherty battled all day in qualifying with James narrowly edging him out for TQ. In A1, James ran into some trouble and Doherty and Bremer took advantage of it finishing 1st and 2nd with Lundberg 3rd. A2 was a little different with James leading wire to wire with Andrew and Robert closely behind. Due to the Rd.1 Finishes, Andrew took 1st, James 2nd and Robert 3rd. Going into the last race of the season all 3 drivers have a shot at the title. The points are VERY close.

17.5 Touring car was dominated by Race 1 winner Ivan "Doug" Bryson. Doug showed why he wants it more than everyone driving fast, clean and effortlessly. Doug set TQ and won both Mains with ease. In second place, Aaron Reynolds hit the carpet for the first time ever and this kid showed why he is such an up and coming talent in the RC World. Aaron got faster every run, and by the mains, he was running the fastest laps in the class. John Hodges was 3rd overall. With the overall results Doug Bryson clinches the season title and also becomes the newest member of the modified class for next year. Great job Doug!

Lastly, Open TC just keeps getting better. With ROAR Carpet nationals runner up Ralph Burch in attendance, along with our usual suspects the racing was intense. Contrary to what many people expected, it was not so easy for Ralph to take the TQ and win, thanks to some great driving from "the Legend" Dumas and Chris Adams, the race was very exciting. A1 went to Mike Dumas, after some ridiculous driving with his super-sonic Top Photon which he used to chase down and overtake Chris Adams's XRAY with 4 laps to go. Ralph sneaked in for a 2nd place finish after a bit of a rough start, with Chris coming in 3rd. In the second A-Main Ralph drove masterfully and led wire to wire for the win. Chris Adams and Dumas battled all the way to the end to a photo finish, where Adams Muscled his way around Dumas coming on to the final straight side by side underneath the loop.  When the dust settled, Ralph was first, Mike second and Adams 3rd. Heading into the last race of the season, it is still anyone's title with Adams, Dumas and Tabush all with a shot at the overall win.

Thanks again to Mike's Hobby Shop and Mike Darnell for having us at Rd.3. As always, the event was top notch and the track and facility always second to none! You guys in Dallas are truly blessed for having such a nice place to race with such nice people running the show.

Thanks are also in order to all of you who attended our 3rd race, now let's get ready for the Finals at Porter next month! See you guys in a couple of weeks!
